Welcome to my website!
My name is Napat Jitpaisarnwattana and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Applied Linguistics for English Language Teaching. From January 2017 I belong to Department of Language Studies, School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, where I am benefiting from a three-year funding under Phet Phra Jom Klao PhD research scholarship.
I have a master degree in Teaching English Language in University Settings (TELUS) from Oxford University in the UK and a master in Digital Language and Literacies from Lancaster University, both of which are not being offered anymore ( I am the last cohort of both programmes yeah something is wrong with me). I also hold a full-time post at Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University in Thailand. In my free time (haha), I examine for Cambridge English Assessment, of which I have been trained to examined YLEs, KET, PET and FCE.
In my research, I am very much interested the role of technology in language education. My PhD dissertation on Language Massive Open Online Courses (LMOOCs) is being supervised by Professor Dr. Hayo Reinders and Associate Professor Dr. Pornapit Darasawang. We are looking at how personalization and social interaction can improve the learning experience in LMOOCs.
I write about technology and its applications in ELT so check out my Digital ELT tools and ELT in Digital Age pages. Feel free to contact me with comments, suggestions or anything you want to share with me.
